CCE Part 2 - Galaxy Prints and Tiger Heads

This is the second part of my Christmas Came Early (CCE) series. I will post two more parts so you better stay tuned, I'm saving the best for last. :)

The second care package is from my international sponsor Oasap. They have tons of super cool stuff in there so you better check them out. They sent me these awesome galaxy print skirt that I've been dying to have ever since. It kinda' reminds me of twilight zone but in technicolor. Haha. I've been contemplating whether to get the galaxy print leggings too but I'm not too sure which one to get. They offer a wide variety of galaxy print leggings, shirts, skirts, etc. so it's really quite a pain deciding. hehe

Want this? Click HERE!

This also came together with the galaxy print skirt. A very chic belt with a tiger's head as a buckle. Don't worry, no real tigers were harmed in making this belt. heeh! I think you can add this to any outfit to create a cool and bad ass vibe.

Get this belt by clicking HERE

Top: thrift store find
Shorts: Forever 21
Belt: Oasap
Watch: Jeremy Scott x Swatch

I love receiving gifts for Christmas but it feels more satisfying to give. So I'm planning on hosting another giveaway soon! :) Who's excited?

I'll try to post the 3rd CCE installment next week. Hint: it is somehow related to the first CCE. :)

Wishing everyone a prosperous new year ahead! :)

Christmas Came Early Part 1

My mom recently bought me these precious Jeffrey Campbell Soiree heels as an early Christmas gift. I've been dying to have a pair of Lucite heels for the longest time but I haven't chanced upon any local online store that would cater to my needs. Luckily, SM fashion forum carries brands such as Max and Cleo, Report, Seychelles and of course Jeffrey Campbell among others. So I think I got lucky since I don't have to purchase the pair online and face a hefty amount of tax upon it's arrival. :)

Did you know that Lucite heels are often called stripper heels? haha. But these awesome pair is far from being one. So let me guide you through a virtual try on of these sexy heels.

Aha! The box underneath is the Part 2 of my Christmas Came Early entry. Watch out for that. ;)

Sizing: I am usually a 5 or 5.5 when it comes to open toe sandals but the smallest available size is a 6. I think it fits perfectly since I really hate it when my toes come out to the edge when walking.

Comfort: I would give it a 3.5/5 which is fairly comfortable compared to other heels I own. Haven't tried walking for more than 2 hours on it though. Will update soon!

Price: As expected from a Jeffrey Campbell pair, you will have to spend a few more $$ for this than regular local brands. But I think it's worth every penny.

Oomph Factor: I give it a 4/5. It's simple, sexy and unique at the same time. It is definitely a statement piece and will spruce up any simple outfit.

Pair it with: A short dress, or a cuffed jeans, or even leather shorts. :)

When worn
So there you have it folks! I hope this virtual try on helped.

If you have any questions about this pair, feel free to ask below. :)

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!! :)

The Military Parka and Hoarding Basics

I can feel the cool breeze in the air as December is fast approaching. This means that I have to get all my sweaters, jumpers and jackets from my "baul" and get ready for a much colder season (hopefully). And of course it wouldn't hurt to add a few more to my collection, so I decided to hunt for the perfect army style jacket.

My hunt first started when I saw Frida J. and Jessica Y. wore one on lookbook.nu, I was not a fan at first but I began to appreciate it when they added variations on how to wear it. It's safe to say that I was hooked. After searching far and wide, I luckily chanced upon this wonderful parka at Forever 21. The best part about it is that it looks perfect, fits awesome, and it was on SALE. :) My mom bought it for me on one of our impromptu shopping trips.

I also found some wonderful and super cheap v-neck shirts at the same store. I love how comfy, loose and versatile these babies are. Perfect especially when I feel too lazy to dress up, I could just pair it with just about anything. I bought it in every color since it only retails for 245 Php each. Teehee!

Too lazy to upload the photos since I've exceeded the amount allowed here on blogger. Hehe.

Any lucky finds recently? I'd love to hear about it. :)

The chelsea boots and the unexpected sale

It's been quite a while since I posted my last haul here in my blog. The reason behind this is simple, I haven't shopped for a couple of months now because I'm trying to save for an upcoming trip. But I am only human, so I decided to shop a "little" last week. Ahhh my love for superficial things is uncanny. Heeh!

I went to Forever 21 MOA twice last week. My plan was to find a decent outfit for my son's party, that's it. But my plan backfired and was surprised to see racks and racks of clothes on sale. I love sales (truly an understatement) but I love FURTHER REDUCTION sales more. (well, who doesn't?) I ended up buying several things on sale and a couple of regular priced items.

The Chelsea booties that was NOT ON SALE! BOOOOO!!! But I really love Chelsea style booties (similar to the one I bought from Topshop) so I made an exemption. Ridiculously comfortable I must say.

So here's the low down, the items are already on sale but if you check the price and it ends with a 9 (209, 429 etc) it still has an additional 50% off. Cool eh?

So yeah. I got that 30 piece bangle set for only 104.50 Php (roughly $2.50)

Here are the other things I got on sale:

If I would assess myself on how I did on my mission (to buy a decent outfit for my son's party), I would say that I have failed miserably. I ended up wearing a peplum top from Topshop purchased several weeks back. But then again, I scored tons of cool items for a fraction of its original price, so I guess it's a win win situation. Hehe.

Any bargain finds lately? Care to share them?

Urban Decay: Naked Palette

I'm so happy that I finally got my hands on the popular Urban Decay product, The Naked palette. I asked my good friend Ria to buy me one at Sephora Kuala Lumpur on her recent trip there. I was a bit confused on whether to buy this one or Naked 2 but I'm quite happy and satisfied with my pick. Maybe I'll ask her to buy the other one for me on her next trip there. Hehe.

I can say that this palette is so me. The colors are natural looking and warm which is perfect for the "no make up" look. It can also be worn from day to night since it offers a good mix of both matte and shimmer (well pigmented) shades. My favorite among all the 12 shades is half baked which gives out a wonderful shimmer but is not over powering plus it complements my dark skin tone.

This is actually my very first eye shadow palette ever and I must say that I am very much impressed with the whole thing especially the primer potion. The colors will last the whole day and won't crease if you use the eye shadow primer potion. I'm actually considering to buy a bigger bottle of it. Hehe. The Naked palette also comes with a Good Karma brush and a mirror.

It was really hard for me to shell out money just to buy make up since this one doesn't come cheap. But I decided to treat myself just this once. Heeh! I promise not to buy any make up for 6 months unless I ran out or something. Haha.

So have you guys tried this palette yet? Tell me your thoughts. :)

Samsung Makes BIG BANG ALIVE

I've been a kpop fan since forever. And when I received the good news from Nuffnang that they are holding a kpop related promo, I was ecstatic. But when I heard that it was a promo for the BIGBANG ALIVE TOUR, my heart skipped a beat and I know that I have to enter, I have to win!

Bigbang is my favorite kpop boy group ever! (see this post as proof lol) Don't get me wrong, I also love other groups but Bigbang stood out for me more. I have saved my money to buy their albums and to buy a ticket for their upcoming concert here in Manila. Can't wait!

For those of you who do not know who Bigbang is, they are a South Korean boy group formed back in 2006 by YG Entertainment (same company with 2ne1). They also won the Best Worldwide act last year at the MTV EMA's beating the likes of Britney Spears and Lena. Let me introduce the members one by one.

Daesung
This is the guy blessed with heavenly vocals. He has struggled in the past with problems and scandals but he remained strong and found time to repent which made me support him more. I personally think that the Samsung Galaxy s3 in marble white suits him the best. He has a sense of gentleness and lightness when he sings. Especially when he is singing my my current favorite song, Wings.

Seungri
The variety show master. You can put Seungri anywhere, anytime and it is a guarantee that he would immediately fit in and keep everyone entertained. That is why I think that the Samsung Galaxy s3 in Titanium Grey suits him the best. You can pair it with anything and it would still look clean and polished. Seungri is also known as the maknae (youngest) of the group but he is recently trying to break free from that image and I think this color is perfect for that, it just screams professional and mature.

G-Dragon
The leader. Kwon Jiyong aka G-dragon is known for his crazy outfits, superb rapping skills and writer of many of the groups songs. He is a complete stand out with his ever changing hair styles (and color) and fashion sense. He is considered a style chameleon, you can make him wear a trash bag and he would still be considered fashionable, that is why the Samsung Galaxy s3 in Garnet Red is the perfect partner for him.

Taeyang
Sol or Taeyang is known for his powerful vocals and dancing skills. He is the best dancer among the members of Bigbang. Some of you may have heard of his single "Wedding dress" which really made it big even here in the Philippines. For me, Taeyang exudes a bit of a mysterious and no-nonsense kind of attitude that can be perfectly paired with the Samsung Galaxy s3 in Sapphire Black.

TOP
TOP is the main rapper of the group. With his signature baritone voice, killer looks and piercing stare, he is an easy favorite among girls. I chose Samsung Galaxy s3 in pebble blue because it's charming and cute just like top. haha. Plus it's perfect together with his cotton candy blue hair. *swoons* lol

Can't wait to watch them perform live and I hope to see my fellow VIP's there! :)
Catch them live this October 24 at the SM Arena for their Bigbang Alive Galaxy tour.

Found it!

I was having a difficult time blogging lately because I don't have the time to open our PC or my laptop. I was busy taking care of my three month old baby and some other stuff that made it difficult to catch up on my back logs. But lo and behold, after searching for quite some time for the perfect tool that would help me with my blogging problems, i found the perfect app in that did just that. It's called Blogsy. It's the perfect blogging app that can be used on your phone or in my case, my beloved ipad. :) It's not free though, it costs $4.99 but I think it's worth every penny.

You can now upload photos or videos by dragging and dropping it from the side bar. How simple is that? And if you're having a hard time figuring how this wonder app works, you can simply click the settings button and watch instructional videos on various blogsy topics.

This is by far the best blogging app I have ever tried. I definitely recommend this to every blogger out there especially the one's who are always on the go.

More Awesome cakes

I am such a sucker for cakes that are delectable and aesthetically pleasing as well (see this post). So when an occasion calls for it, I immediately hit the web in search of bake shops that would cater to my needs. :)

1. Rainbow cake from Sophie's mom
From the makers of my birthday cake seen on this post. I ordered this one for my son's 2nd month birthday.

Pros:
-Aesthetically pleasing
-Unique
-Kid's would definitely love it
-Comes with a cute flag banner

Cons:
-A bit messy (the samples on their fb page are much better)
-Lop-sided (but it didn't fall. thank goodness)

Taste:
-It was ok. Not that great. I feel that there is something lacking.
-Not too sweet which I love

Verdict:
Will not order this again, but I would still try their other cakes.

They also have a cupcake version :)

2. Devil's Food cake from Chocolate Kiss Cafe
This was actually a suggestion of my brother. I gave it a try since I've heard that the shop was quite popular for their Devil's food cake. Ordered one for my husband's birthday.

Pros:
-Aesthetically pleasing
-Big
-Box comes with a gift tag (lol)

Cons:
- You have to travel all the way to Roces QC or UP Diliman to pick it up (but it's worth the hassle, really)

Taste:
-Divine! My husband loved it and he's not really fond of eating sweets mind you!
-Chocolate cake with marshmallow-esque frosting/icing

Verdict:
-Will definitely order this again!

Another must try from Chocolate Kiss Cafe: Their Dayap Chiffon cake

Hoping this post made you hungry! :)
